HOUND DAY
(meant to play off hump day, but not sure if anyone gets it.)

First off, my apologies for not posting yesterday, especially after I said that I’ll be posting Jefff’s food soon. To make it up to you all I have new and exciting food to share today. Yesterday’s outdoor wod was done over the noon hour at a new location in Parkhill. The wod started with a 3KM river path run, then a small hill sprint, then 3 rounds of 40 squats, 30 sit-ups, 20 push-ups and 10 burpees. Great job to everyone that came out! Fun in the sun, and a great way to spend a lunch break. Today’s outdoor wod was changed up a bit to take advantage of the beautiful weather – river path run for fun, not time, not distance, just to be outside. LTP came out for this one. Who couldn’t resist this one

TOMORROW'S OUTDOOR WOD
Swimming AMLAP (as many laps as possible) in 30 minutes.
It’s going to be way too nice tomorrow to be inside, so try to get to an outdoor pool. Here’s a link to all the outdoor pools in the city. http://www.calgaryoutdoorpools.ca/

EATING WITH JEFFF
Okay, moving on to what you’re waiting for. We’ve made up new rules for the Eating with Jefff section. Instead of posting every meal every day we’re just going to post the “new” creations along with the recipes. This way you don’t have to see the same scrambled eggs or baked chicken and raw veggies dish every day, and you'll get some new recipes. cool?

Cookies in the making.
Cookies for the eating.
(i'm in the process of perfecting these, so I'll post the recipe when they're perfect. There are really good, but I think they can be great. Be patient.)

Dinner - Halibut Macadamia with coconut broccoli. Yum!
Halibut recipe from Paleo Girls and broccoli sautéed in coconut oil

Left over egg yokes from the halibut for Bruce
 - good for his fur coat.

  1. Great to see so many of you at the outdoor WODs lately. I have a feeling that the Hound Pound will represent well at the upcoming OPT challenges!!

On a side note, Bruce has been receiving a lot of compliments lately on his coat. He also completed his big Starbucks walk this AM and only had to lay down once on the way back to the pound. He insists that since he switched to a paleo diet, he feels like a new hound. A lesson we can all learn from.

Last thing, welcome to new HP followers Courtney, Blaine, and Kathleen!
