BASIC TRAINING
Well done to the Hound Pound athletes that completed Day 1 of Basic Training last night with Jeff. The session included instruction on the air squat, push up and the ring row with a workout at the end including all these movements. Run 200M, then 21, 15, 9 rep rounds of squats, pull ups, ring rows and then another 200M run. All the times were under 9:00 - well done Sarah (7:53), Jayme (8:02) and Laura (8:45)!!

THINGS THAT ARE BAD
Here's another harmful ingredient commonly found in processed food that you should be aware of - TBHQ. It's approved for consumption by the FDA in small doses, but has alarming side affects at higher doses and can ultimately cause death at even higher doses. What!? This is just another reason to avoid processed foods of any kind. Eat paleo! Basically TBHQ is a form of butane (i.e. lighter fluid) that is added to food as a preservative to extend storage life. It's used in a variety of processed and fast food, especially the chicken nugget. Another reason to make your own chicken fingers - try the ones from Elana's cookbook (made with and egg/almond flour batter and fried in oil). Read more about this toxic ingredient from Dr. Mercola.
