BIG NIGHT OF SQUATTING

Well done Hound Pound athletes. We had some impressive lifts last night, and some first time squatters too. And to end the big lifting session with a killer wod is nothing more than impressive. You all worked hard and you should be proud. I am! Next week we clean! And i don't mean sweeping out the Hound Pound...

Q: What do beavers have in common
with perfume and raspberries?
A: Anal gland extract
THINGS THAT I THINK ARE BAD (OR GROSS)

So I've changed the name of this section to reflect my personal option of what I think is bad or just plain gross. The be fair, what I think is gross might not be to someone else. To each their own. So today's topic, thanks to Hound Pound follower GRRRRant, is CASTOREUM EXTRACT, which is basically the exudate from a beaver's anal glands. This extract is commonly used in perfums and colognes, cigarettes, and also as a "natural" flavouring in raspberry flavoured foods. Now, if I have any of this information incorrect, I strongly encourage anyone from The Raspberry Flavouring Institute or The Beaver Institute to comment. While we're on the topic, we have an appointment with the vet to have Bruce's anal glands released this week, I wonder if we can profit from the exudate? I'll look into it and report back.

  1. Did anyone think of using raspberries for raspberry flavoring instead of using beaver anal gland exudate.
