GOOD LUCK HOUND POUND ATHLETES!

SATURDAY IS A BIG DAY!

Bruce on his way to the Olympics!
Hound Pound is proud to host the first OPT Challenge of the 2011 CF Games training season tomorrow (Saturday, September 25th). There is still time to sign up if you haven't already, but time is running out. So SIGN UP now. We will start the early morning heats at 9:00am and wrap up by 11:00am. Hound Pound will be open at 8:00am for warm up. We will resume the heats in afternoon from 3:00 on. Spectators welcome! WODs will be posted here and on the OPT blog as soon as they're announced - check back tonight/tomorrow morning. Good luck athletes!! Eat well and get lots of rest tonight. If you're wondering why there are no heats between 11am-3:00pm, it's because Hound Pound athlete Bruce Finlayson will be competing in the annual Bassethound Olympics, and we will be there to watch and give him our support. It's too bad that the two events landed on the same day, as it was a very tough decision for Bruce to chose between the two competitions. In the end, Bruce choose the Bassethound Olympics because it supports a cause that is very close to his heart - The Bassehound Rescue Foundation. Everyone is welcome to come out and show their support for Bruce and his cause. Good Luck Bruce, hopefully there will be muscle-ups!

Bruce says: Try to keep cool pre-comp
and stay relaxed!

JEFFF'S EATS
Don't worry Jefff has still been eating, I've just been really bad at documenting it. There's been some new and tasty meals consumed over the last week. And we have some new recipes up our sleeves. Now I'd like to introduce...Cauliflower rice and BBQ Chicken - YUM!!

This tasted like a cheat meal -
cauliflower fried
rice and BBQ chicken

Finger lickn' good!!

Fried Cauliflower Rice Recipe
*this is one of my own creations, so quantities are approximate and substitutions are welcome.
- 1 small onion
- 4 celery stocks
- 2 chicken sausages or 4-5 strips of bacon
- 1 head of cauliflower
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Tamari (wheat free soy sauce) to taste. About 3-4 tablespoons.

Heat oil in large fry pan and add garlic. Saute until lightly brown. Then add bacon or sausage and saute until cooked (if raw) otherwise add celery, onion, chicken, 1/2 the tamari at the same time and saute over mid-high heat until onions and celery are soft. In a food process add chunks of cauliflower head and pulse until there is an even crumbly consistency, then add to fry pan and saute with other ingredients until soft. Add more tamair sauce to taste. Enjoy!
